About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support end-to-end underwriting and portfolio monitoring activities
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Managers, Underwriters, and Credit Risk partners
  • Execute underwriting process including in-depth financial and risk analysis
  • Draft approval and review materials, and support credit committees
  • Manage risk by exchanging ideas and recommendations
  • Identify, assess, monitor, and escalate credit risks
  • Analyze borrower and guarantor financial statements
  • Prepare credit approval memoranda
  • Develop, review, and validate financial models and analyses
  • Manage ongoing portfolio monitoring activities
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of credit data across systems
  • Proactively identify emerging risks and escalate concerns
  • Serve as a technical resource for junior analysts
  • Contribute to special projects and process improvement efforts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in Commercial Banking, credit analysis, underwriting, or a related role
  • Strong, demonstrable understanding of financial analysis and credit risk assessment
  • Advanced working knowledge of commercial banking products, services, and credit structures
  • Solid understanding of corporate legal structures and common credit related legal documents
  • General knowledge of U.S. banking regulations and supervisory expectations
  • Proficiency in internal banking systems and applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated analytical judgment, problem-solving capability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
