About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responding to customer enquiries and resolving complaints in a professional and efficient manner.
- Assessing and processing applications for events that impact the road network.
- Assessing and approving Temporary Traffic Restriction Orders.
- Liaising with contractors undertaking works on the road network.
- Monitoring compliance with relevant legislation and statutory requirements.
- Assessing and processing road occupation applications and carrying out enforcement activities in accordance with the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984.
- Assisting with the administration, licensing, management and enforcement of activities affecting the road network under the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 and the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991.
- Undertaking other duties consistent with the scope and responsibilities of the post as required.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Educated to SCQF Level 5, including National 5s or SVQ Level 2 qualifications, or equivalent, with Mathematics and English at Level 3 or above.
- HNC in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience in Roads Network Management or a related operational environment.
