About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support valuation staff in the preparation and maintenance of the Valuation Roll and Council Tax Valuation List.
  • Work Fife wide from Fife House, Glenrothes.
  • Survey, measurement and inspection of domestic.
  • Create and maintain property files.
  • Operate in-house computer systems and databases.
  • Organise own workload to meet deadlines and make best use of resources.
  • Prepare survey reports.
  • Research and collate information required to assist in appeals, proposals and valuations.
  • Download plans from the e-planning website and research other property information.
  • Deal with general property enquiries received by the Service.
  • Work as a member of a team.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Highers, SCQF level 6, SVQ level 3 or equivalent.
  • Numeracy, accuracy and literacy skills.
  • Previous experience working in a busy office environment or as part of a team.
  • The ability to work as part of a team or individually as required.
  • The ability to organise and prioritise your own workload in order to meet agreed deadlines.
  • Computer literate.
  • The ability to travel throughout Fife.
  • The ability to learn how to apply rating and council tax legislation and case law on a practical basis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland.
