About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead on a strategic area of responsibility, as a member of the Education Directorate Leadership Team.
- Provide leadership in partnership with all services to contribute to supporting the implementation of the ‘No Wrong Door’ approach across the Council.
- Have lead management responsibility for a group of secondary, primary schools, special schools and early years centres, with a particular focus on improving the quality of learning and teaching, attainment and achievement for all learners.
- Ensure appropriate stakeholder engagement to support participation in progressing and evaluating the key aspects of improvement within the Directorate.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High levels of interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Commitment to professional learning and continuous improvement.
- Have experience of leading self-evaluation and quality improvement at a high level.
- Degree or appropriate equivalent qualification.
- Registration with the General Teaching Council (GTCS) in the required Sector, i.e. relevant experience in Early Years and Secondary.
- Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
