About the role
- Working closely with the Head of Sales and the wider sales team to deliver on sales objectives focusing on the proactive pursuit of new sponsorships
- Identifying and pursuing leads in order to secure high value sponsorship deals for the FIFA World Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, FIFA Women’s World Cup, FIFAe and Other FIFA Events
- Responsible for sourcing potential sponsors, selecting and qualifying prospects, securing face to face meetings, and pitching proposals to major blue-chip companies
- Developing bespoke sponsorship proposals to suit the needs of individual companies
- Managing negotiations through to successful acquisition
- Working closely with Strategy and Planning department to identify opportunities and build sales arguments
- Establishing long-lasting relationships with key sponsor prospects in the medium to long-term
- May act as a main point of contact for Local Organising Committees of selected Other FIFA Events for sales related matters and, where required, supporting or managing the sales process
- Maintaining and developing knowledge of emerging sponsorship categories, industry trends and applicable industry research such as pricing and inventory in the sale sponsorship and media assets
- Developing strong external works, ensuring that FIFA’s opportunities and ways of working are well known in the industry to help foster inbound leads
- Supporting Head of Sales with regular reporting on progress towards sales revenue targets
Requirements
- Proven track record and experience (minimum 5 years) in international sales, sports event marketing and/or sponsorship management environment
- Experience in leading, supporting and developing sales teams
- Track record of working on and negotiating major sponsorship contracts
- A broad and active network of relationships and contacts across brands and agencies
- University degree in business, sports marketing or related area
- Fluency in English is a must, any other FIFA language (Spanish especially) is an advantage
- Excellent in Word / PowerPoint / Excel / PDF / MS Teams / Sales CRM tools
- Ability to travel often and when required
- Highly professional, articulate and results-driven
- Strong presenter and excellent relationship building skills
- Experience in dealing and negotiating within different cultures
- Ability to work independently in a multi-task position within a dynamic, team-based environment
