About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage a team of IT and Security professionals
  • Delegate and support the team to improve IT and Security processes and career development
  • Guide the team through compliance audit requirements
  • Support employees company-wide with day-to-day IT and Security issues
  • Own and collaborate with Operations teams on security questionnaires
  • Develop and oversee company-wide security projects
  • Define and promote security best-practice requirements and guidance
  • Handle security incident management, evaluation, assessment, and vulnerability testing across web and mobile applications, cloud infrastructure, and internal networks
  • Streamline, scale, and automate processes
  • Represent the IT and Security team and collaborate with Recruiting, HR, Finance, Engineering, and other cross-functional stakeholders
  • Advise engineering teams on secure coding practices and build, deploy, and maintain cloud security controls
  • Envision and help build a dedicated security team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or relative experience
  • 4+ years of experience in Security and IT, including at least 1 year of people management experience
  • Prior experience building technical security guidelines and processes across multiple teams
  • Strong knowledge of security best practices, standards, and frameworks
  • Strong organizational and verbal and written communication skills
  • Patience and desire to help and solve problems
  • Ability to learn new things quickly and handle uncertainty
  • Ability to speak up when help is needed
  • Management of audits and certifications such as ISO 27001:2022 and SOC2
  • Knowledge of data residency requirements and GDPR
  • Experience in offensive security engagements
  • Familiarity with static code analysis and/or fuzz testing
  • Contributions to or participation in the security community and/or open-source software
  • Experience with AWS security and tools such as Inspector, Detective, GuardDuty, and WAF
