About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Analyze and validate large datasets using Excel, SQL, and other reporting platforms
Learn pension plan operations and develop subject matter expertise in Defined Benefit administration
Support client projects, operational enhancements, and business process improvements
Research and resolve complex data, plan, and operational issues
Partner with internal teams to design and implement solutions improving client and participant experiences
Assist with corporate actions and change orders for client pension plan administration
Participate in meetings and planning activities for project execution and client satisfaction
Evaluate business requests and identify impacts to operations, systems, and client deliverables
Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency improvements, and process enhancements
Collaborate with leaders and cross-functional teams on initiatives supporting Fidelity’s Defined Benefit business

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree required; Data Analytics, Data Science, Management Information Systems, Business Analytics, and Business Administration majors preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience using Microsoft Excel for data analysis
Experience with SQL, Access, Tableau, Power BI, Python, or other analytical tools preferred
Exposure to actuarial science concepts is a plus
Internship, academic project, or coursework involving data analysis, reporting, or process improvement
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Interest in financial services, retirement benefits, operations, or consulting
Curiosity and willingness to learn technical and business concepts
Continuous improvement mindset and desire to identify better ways of working
