About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of quantitative risk specialists
  • Set the strategic direction and priorities for the team
  • Oversee daily validation of VaR, stress tests, factor exposures, and performance attribution
  • Allocate team resources across daily risk oversight, strategy onboarding, and platform development
  • Direct the design and enhancement of the portfolio risk platform
  • Research and implement new risk methodologies and models
  • Oversee onboarding of complex multi-asset strategies
  • Develop risk reports, dashboards, and analytical tools
  • Serve as primary contact with portfolio managers, risk managers, and technology leaders
  • Communicate quantitative concepts, model results, and risk analyses to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Partner with technology teams on platform architecture, data infrastructure, and data quality frameworks
  • Represent quantitative risk in cross-departmental meetings, regulatory inquiries, and internal audits

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of experience in the investment industry, including significant quantitative risk management, portfolio analytics, or financial engineering experience
  • At least 5 years of leadership or people management experience
  • Master’s or PhD in Financial Engineering, Computational Finance, Financial Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, or another quantitative discipline
  • CFA or FRM designation strongly preferred
  • Expert understanding of derivatives pricing and risk analytics across commodities, FX, equities, credit, and rates
  • Experience leading development and implementation of quantitative risk models and platforms
  • Strong strategic vision and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Deep understanding of Python and SQL applications in large-scale data management and analysis
  • Extensive experience with industry-standard risk systems such as RiskMetrics and Barra
  • Strong grasp of risk-system methodologies
  • Ability to challenge and improve existing models and processes
  • Must meet applicable regulatory and criminal-history requirements
