About the role
- Serve as a subject matter expert for applications enabling electronic trading capabilities
- Gain deep expertise in the electronic trading domain, including brokerage operations
- Act as the bridge between business and technology, representing development teams in stakeholder discussions
- Analyze and communicate application architecture and source code to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Leverage GenAI tools to accelerate code understanding and documentation
- Design and maintain architectural diagrams and system workflows
- Perform data analysis using KDB/Q and SQL, interpreting large datasets to diagnose system behavior and performance
- Lead system design efforts, translating business requirements into actionable technical specifications
- Manage work breakdown (JIRA epics, stories) and coordinate with developers and QA teams
- Facilitate cross-team discussions on technical initiatives and priorities
- Conduct UAT using available testing tools and ensure quality delivery
- Provide production and non-production support, responding to inquiries from business support teams
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent
- 8+ years of experience as a Systems Analyst with project management responsibilities
- Prior hands-on software development experience
- Strong background in complex distributed systems, ideally trading platforms
- Proficiency with SDLC tools (JIRA, Confluence, JIRA Align) and collaboration tools (Miro)
- Skilled in creating architecture diagrams using Visio, Draw.io, or similar tools
- Solid experience in data modeling, SQL, and working with large datasets
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments, scripting, and command-line utilities
- Knowledge of cloud architectures and deployments, especially AWS
- Exposure to AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot)
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines (GitHub, Maven, Jenkins, Artifactory, uDeploy)
- Capital Markets or Brokerage systems experience is highly desirable
- Knowledge of FIX protocol, FIX engines, and KDB+/Q is a strong plus
