About the role

Play a key role in building highly available, scalable systems that support Fictiv's fast-growing global business.
Build high-performing systems in cloud environments (AWS preferred) using event-driven, asynchronous programming frameworks like Node.js.
Design, implement, test, and document maintainable, defect-free software.
Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering peers to design and deliver technical solutions.
Contribute to design reviews, mentor other engineers, and model best practices in coding and communication.
Debug production issues, resolve blockers, and support system stability.
Explore new patterns, tools, and techniques and share knowledge with peers.

5+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
Proficiency with Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, GraphQL, React, and AWS services (SQS, Lambda, EC2, RDS).
Strong background in backend APIs and integrations (REST or GraphQL).
Solid experience with SQL & NoSQL databases and event-driven systems (queues, iPaaS, event buses).
Familiarity with distributed systems, caching, and application security (OWASP Top 10).
AWS Certification is a plus.
A passion for writing unit and integration tests to ensure high code quality.
Candidates on the west coast are highly preferred for this role.
