About the role
- Play a key role in building highly available, scalable systems that support Fictiv's fast-growing global business.
- Build high-performing systems in cloud environments (AWS preferred) using event-driven, asynchronous programming frameworks like Node.js.
- Design, implement, test, and document maintainable, defect-free software.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering peers to design and deliver technical solutions.
- Contribute to design reviews, mentor other engineers, and model best practices in coding and communication.
- Debug production issues, resolve blockers, and support system stability.
- Explore new patterns, tools, and techniques and share knowledge with peers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
- Proficiency with Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, GraphQL, React, and AWS services (SQS, Lambda, EC2, RDS).
- Strong background in backend APIs and integrations (REST or GraphQL).
- Solid experience with SQL & NoSQL databases and event-driven systems (queues, iPaaS, event buses).
- Familiarity with distributed systems, caching, and application security (OWASP Top 10).
- AWS Certification is a plus.
- A passion for writing unit and integration tests to ensure high code quality.
- Candidates on the west coast are highly preferred for this role.
