Provide strategic financial leadership and ensure alignment of financial practices with project and division goals.
Manage the budgeting and forecasting process for the project, overseeing financial reporting and ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data.
Develop and review advanced financial models, lead variance analysis, and drive financial decision-making.
Oversee data collection, ensure accuracy, and interpret complex analyses for decision making; present findings and recommendations to leadership.
Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures in accordance with workplan; serve as the official approver for project expenditures.
Manage financial aspects of sub-recipient monitoring, ensure compliance with donor and organizational requirements, and address financial issues.
Lead resource management and optimize resource allocation to support strategic priorities and project workplans.
Oversee financial systems and tools, ensure they meet division/project needs.
Develop strategies to mitigate financial risks and assist with internal financial audits and reporting to regulatory agencies.
Provide leadership and technical guidance for compliance with GAAP; knowledge of CAS and FAR may be required.
Coach, mentor, and manage financial analyst and country finance staff; supervise a Finance Assistant; report to the Project Director.
Collaborate with project manager on budgets, workplans, subaward monitoring and resource requirements; finalize funder financial reports and supporting documentation.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or its international equivalent.
Minimum of 5-8 years related work experience, including 3 years in management and 3 years working at the corporate or organization level.
Experience working on complex awards and contracts; experience managing sub-awards preferred.
Must be able to read, write and speak advanced English; fluency in Spanish is required.
Prior work in a non-governmental organization (NGO) is preferred.
Experience working with an international organization and with USG funding.
Knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) may also be required.
Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and experience with automated financial reporting, government accounting practices.
Sound knowledge and past experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) practices and reporting guidelines.
Excellent organizational, supervisory, leadership and managerial skills.
Experience with Microsoft applications (Office 365, SharePoint, Skype/Zoom/Teams).
