About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide technical leadership to the Agricultural Underwriting team, promoting professional development and ensuring quality in analyses and underwriting decisions.
Manage the portfolio for Rural Pledge Insurance, Rural Property Insurance, Crop Insurance and Livestock Insurance, seeking a balance between growth, profitability, exposure and technical quality.
Define and refine underwriting policies, guidelines and criteria aligned with the company’s risk appetite and strategic objectives.
Drive the evolution of the Agricultural Underwriting strategy to support operational expansion, the development of new products and the company’s positioning as a market reference.
Participate in the development, review and enhancement of products, coverages, policy wordings/clauses, acceptance criteria and underwriting processes.
Handle negotiations for higher-complexity risks, supporting commercial teams and strengthening relationships with brokers, consultancies, cooperatives and strategic clients.
Build and maintain close market relationships by attending commercial meetings, technical visits, industry events and business travel, representing the company institutionally.
Monitor key portfolio indicators, tracking growth, retention, loss ratio, exposure, risk concentration and profitability, and propose actions for continuous improvement.
Conduct technical studies and market benchmarks, following trends, new solutions, underwriting practices and opportunities to evolve products.
Collaborate with Technology and Digital Transformation teams to evolve products and processes, aiming for greater operational efficiency, automation and improved broker experience.
Partner with Reinsurance, Actuarial, Claims and Operations teams on portfolio management and the evolution of the company’s solutions.
Ensure underwriting processes comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements and governance guidelines.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong experience in agricultural insurance underwriting.
Technical knowledge of Rural Pledge Insurance, Rural Property Insurance, Crop Insurance and Livestock Insurance.
Experience managing technical underwriting teams.
Established relationships with a variety of broker profiles.
Experience in portfolio management, risk analysis, pricing and performance indicators.
Experience working with brokers, cooperatives, consultancies and agribusiness clients.
Knowledge of reinsurance contracts and structures applied to the agricultural segment.
Ability to negotiate higher-complexity risks.
Willingness to travel.
University degree (completed).
Advanced English.
