About the role

  • Provide comprehensive legal advice to the Management Board and business units on all commercial law matters, with a primary focus on labor and employment law and on related legal fields
  • Willingness to independently research and become proficient in new and complex areas of commercial law, in particular banking and capital markets topics (e.g., corporate law, contract law, supervisory/regulatory law), and to develop new practice areas
  • Develop and implement practical solutions for a wide range of legal challenges across the company
  • Draft and review (employment) contracts, policies, works agreements, and other legal documents, as well as internal processes
  • Represent the employer in dealings with the works council and external stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance and monitor legal changes across various legal areas
  • Support or lead legal disputes and, where necessary, litigation; coordinate external counsel
  • Participate in interdisciplinary projects, particularly those related to digitalization and Legal Tech, and actively contribute to the design and conception of internal processes and structures

Requirements

  • Two above-average German state law examinations (Prädikat/Staatsexamen); a doctoral degree (Dr.) or LL.M. is an advantage
  • At least three years of relevant professional experience, ideally in an international large law firm or as in‑house counsel at a bank or other regulated financial institution
  • Solid expertise in labor and employment law and willingness to deepen knowledge in other areas of commercial law
  • Strong analytical and structured working style, high level of initiative and commitment to quality, with an intrinsic drive to optimize processes
  • Proficient with MS Office; openness to and interest in modern IT and Legal Tech solutions and in further developing digital workflows
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, including in complex interdisciplinary contexts
  • Business‑fluent German and good English skills; French is a plus
