About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Administer and support Microsoft 365 workloads, including Exchange Online/on-premises and Microsoft Teams
- Manage mail flow, mailboxes, distribution lists, Teams provisioning, channels, and voice/calling configuration
- Design, build, and maintain PowerShell scripts and Azure Logic Apps workflows for administration, provisioning, reporting, and operational automation
- Architect and maintain configuration standards for messaging and collaboration platforms
- Provide senior-level support for Active Directory, Exchange, Teams, and SharePoint, including account and license lifecycle management
- Monitor Microsoft 365 workload health, availability, and performance, and troubleshoot complex messaging and collaboration issues
- Develop and maintain operational and automation runbooks
- Evaluate and improve secure configuration, access governance, privileged account access, and mailbox permissions
- Evaluate emerging Microsoft 365 capabilities and automation tooling and recommend adoption
- Respond to complex infrastructure issues, including evenings and weekends as needed
- Mentor junior systems administrators and contribute to broader IT team development
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience administering Microsoft Exchange Online and Exchange Server, including mail flow, transport rules, and mailbox management
- Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience administering Microsoft Teams, including Teams Phone/voice, meeting policies, and channel/tenant configuration
- Experience developing automation and scripting solutions using PowerShell and Azure Logic Apps
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Graph API and Power Platform, including Power Automate and Power Apps
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory), account and license lifecycle management, and conditional access
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and on-premises platforms, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, Teams, and SharePoint
- Experience with Microsoft 365 security and compliance tooling, including Microsoft Defender, Purview, and Conditional Access
- Ability to evaluate messaging and collaboration environments for security and configuration risks
- Ability to prioritize and execute complex, multi-stakeholder tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Ability to research issues, standards, and products and recommend solutions
- Ability to develop and present training programs and workshops
- Knowledge and experience with ITIL processes, configuration management, and process documentation
- Excellent problem-solving, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to work across IT, Security, Legal, and Compliance stakeholders
- Ability to operate independently on ambiguous or evolving problems
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information securely
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently under pressure and tight deadlines
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to explain technical issues to non-technical staff and attorneys
- Flexibility to provide after-hours or on-call support
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent applicable experience
- 3–5+ years of experience administering Microsoft 365 workloads, including Exchange and Teams, in an enterprise environment, with PowerShell scripting or Logic Apps automation
- Exposure to Microsoft Graph API, Power Automate, or broader Microsoft 365 administration is strongly preferred
- Systems certification such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate, MCSE, or similar, or equivalent experience
- Automation certifications are a plus
