About the role
- Lead multiple engineering teams by developing managers and senior ICs, creating growth opportunities, and shaping a team structure that supports long-term growth.
- Connect organizational strategy to a cross-team execution plan, ensuring priorities, roadmaps, and success metrics are aligned across teams and clearly communicated upward and downward.
- Drive reliable, high-quality delivery across multiple projects by managing interdependencies, proactively mitigating risks, resolving ambiguity, and ensuring teams operate with a healthy, sustainable sense of urgency.
- Establish a collaborative environment across teams and partner functions to prevent misalignment, address conflict constructively, and build cross-team trust.
- Hold managers and senior engineers accountable for building inclusive teams, maintaining strong performance standards, and modeling the company's culture and values.
- Ensure teams balance speed, quality, and long-term cost of ownership while making sound technology decisions driven by ROI, reuse of existing solutions, and clarity of tradeoffs.
- Serve as a trusted partner to product, design, and other org leaders.
Requirements
- Extensive experience building and leading high-performing engineering teams, including managing managers and senior-level ICs.
- Demonstrated success scaling teams, processes, and organizational structures during periods of growth or increasing complexity.
- Strong ability to connect long-term strategy to multi-team execution plans, including roadmapping, resource allocation, and cross-team alignment.
- Proven track record of delivering multiple complex projects in parallel with high quality, clear communication, and well-managed risks.
- Experience driving cross-functional collaboration and influencing product, design, and leadership partners through clarity, relationship-building, and structured decision-making.
- Deep understanding of modern engineering practices, architectural principles, and how to evaluate and apply them pragmatically across varied teams.
- Excellent communication and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for executives, managers, and engineers alike.
