About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Creates project designs and plans for all phases of projects and coordinates building design consultants while monitoring drawings.
  • Develops and represents lead technical viewpoint on projects.
  • Coordinates with Director and Department Head on appropriate technical solutions and product strategies.
  • Coordinates all trades and agencies related to building design while monitoring drawings.
  • Manages projects and leads a team in development of the aesthetic design and the preparation of architectural design including drawings and specifications.
  • Collaborates with or serves as the Project Designer for the design of the project.
  • Develops a working process with the team that ensures that the design intent of a project is maintained for the duration of the project.
  • Coordinates the work of design consultants, and serves as liaison with Project Management, other Architects and consultants.
  • Meets with clients and presents design presentations.
  • Coordinates with relevant regulatory/governmental authorities to achieve entitlement approvals related to zoning and building.
  • Mentors junior staff.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must have Masters of Architecture or related field, 6 years relevant architectural design experience, and required skills.
  • Alternatively, must have Bachelors of Architecture or related field, 8 years relevant architectural design experience, and required skills.
  • Required skills include: (3 years experience) in design and documentation of hospitality, senior living, gaming;
  • working on adaptive reuse and historical renovation projects, including existing building survey and documentation;
  • construction administration project phase, including submittal review, RFI investigation and response, and site observation;
  • working with building and practice area codes, including IBC, NFPA 101, ANSI, ADA, FHA and BOMA guidelines;
  • coordinating with relevant regulatory/governmental authorities to achieve entitlement approvals related to zoning and building;
  • (2 year experience) in leading the design of projects;
  • AutoCAD;
  • Revit;
  • Autodesk Construction Cloud;
  • Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Newforma Project Center;
  • Affinity Design software;
  • Sketch-up;
  • Lumion;
  • Enscape;
  • In-design;
  • Illustrator;
  • Bluebeam.
  • Must obtain LEED, EDAC or WELL accreditation post-hire.
  • Little local travel to client sites in Pennsylvania and New Jersey may be involved.
