Manager, Compensation

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide leadership, management and subject matter expertise in compensation and performance management
- Support and manage job catalogue, job architecture and compensation frameworks
- Monitor effectiveness of compensation programs and recommend improvements based on trends and analysis
- Manage and align internal processes, including job evaluation and pay structures
- Contribute to the design and governance of compensation programs aligned with organizational objectives and best practices
- Oversee compensation data, benchmarking, analytics and reporting
- Lead pay equity initiatives, including planning, reviewing processes and implementing required changes
- Provide leadership for annual market review, performance review and compensation processes
- Develop and manage policies, tools and communications related to performance and compensation cycles
- Support Board and Human Resources and Governance Committee initiatives and special projects
- Lead, coach and develop team members while fostering a high-performing and engaged team culture
- Build strong partnerships across teams and stakeholders to support organizational objectives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in administration, commerce, human resources, or a related field or discipline
- At least eight years of related compensation experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
- In-depth knowledge of compensation, job architecture and performance management principles and practices
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation, including Canada Labour Code, Human Rights and Pay Equity
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills
- Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and influence stakeholders
