About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own the Senior Underwriting production team and drive profitable new business growth and new product development.
Serve as the primary referral authority for the Senior Underwriting team.
Establish and communicate underwriter performance goals and reviewing submission referrals.
Manage overall performance management and training.
Handle FCCI Specialty's most complex accounts and assess account eligibility.
Lead product and process improvements, and determine rating methodology.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
Minimum of eight years of E&S underwriting with focus on casualty lines; including three years in a leadership role
Advanced knowledge of current market conditions, trends, competition, and new products / coverages being offered by competitors
Demonstrated ability to effectively assess risks, price, and negotiate business in accordance with established guidelines
Thorough understanding of key exposures and portfolio pricing techniques
Knowledge of forms and coverages
Ability to propose, research and implement new product development
Recognize variances to plan and propose corrective actions
Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal and presentation skills
Ability to analyze, define and solve problems; the use of good judgment and decision-making
CPCU/Professional designation is preferred
