About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Operate the firewall request workflow using the AlgoSec platform;
Analyze, validate, and track requests for creation, modification, and removal of firewall rules;
Assess technical impacts related to connectivity, security, and compliance;
Support the review, recertification, and governance processes for security policies;
Perform operational troubleshooting for security and connectivity solutions;
Monitor approval flows, documentation, and compliance of changes;
Interact with network, infrastructure, security, architecture teams and vendors;
Support monitoring and handling of incidents related to connectivity, access, and security;
Maintain up-to-date technical documentation, operational procedures, and records;
Support audits and compliance processes related to firewall rules and security policies;
Contribute to continuous improvement of operational processes, controls, and automations.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Technical or university degree (in progress or completed) in Networking, Information Security, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related fields;
Previous experience operating firewalls, security policies, and access controls;
Intermediate knowledge of TCP/IP networking;
Knowledge of firewalls, security rules, NAT, VPN, and network segmentation;
Familiarity with protocols such as HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, SSH, ICMP, TCP, UDP, and VPN;
Technical analysis skills to validate flows, ports, sources, destinations, and impacts of firewall rules;
Experience troubleshooting connectivity and security issues;
Strong analytical skills, organization, and attention to detail;
Ability to work effectively in a team and interact with clients;
Good verbal and written communication skills;
Commitment to processes, documentation, and quality in task execution.
**Differentials**
Experience or knowledge of AlgoSec;
Experience with firewall solutions such as Fortinet, Palo Alto, Check Point, Cisco, or similar;
CCNA certification;
Fortinet technical certifications such as FCP, FCSS, FCX, or equivalent Fortinet track certifications;
Knowledge of routing in cloud environments, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP);
Knowledge of hybrid connectivity, site-to-site VPN, peering, transit gateway, virtual networks, VPCs, routes, and routing tables in cloud;
Knowledge of ITSM tools and ticket management;
Familiarity with ITIL processes;
Previous experience in corporate environments or resident operations;
Knowledge of SIEM, VPN, Proxy, NAC, or related security solutions;
Experience with technical documentation, approval flows, and change management processes.
