About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Shape and execute the long-term strategy for detection engineering, security incident response, threat intelligence, and threat hunting
- Lead efforts to build detections, tools, automations, and integrations that strengthen our threat detection and response capabilities
- Mentor, grow, and support a team of security engineers
- Work with Fastly's Incident Management team to improve security incident response processes, playbooks, and metrics
- Partner with engineering to implement security controls
- Lead security incidents for the company
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7-10+ years of relevant experience
- Experience in security engineering, detection development, incident response
- Technical understanding of attacker threats and exploitation techniques
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Ruby, Go, or Rust
- Experience leading large cross-functional security incidents
