About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Represents clients in all areas of insurance defense practice
Handles all phases of cases from intake to resolution
Litigates low complexity and exposure cases
Prepares pleadings, motions, discovery, and briefs
Attends hearings, conferences, interviews, mediations, arbitrations, and/or trials
Informs leadership of case handling opportunities and challenges
Consults with the Claims Department on the legal aspects of files
Ensures efficient case management
May handle second chair trials and trials in cases with minimal complexity

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelors degree preferred
Licensed to practice Law in applicable states required upon hire
Civil litigation and/or personal/bodily injury experience preferred
Strong verbal communication and listening skills
Excellent written communication skills
Effective negotiation skills
Ability to represent the company with external constituents
Demonstrates excellent judgment and decision making skills
Demonstrated time management and priority setting skills
Possesses strong technical aptitude
Adept and proficient at using technology to maximize efficiency in virtual, paperless environment
