About the role
- Prepares actuarial analyses of catastrophe loss development and reserves for declared events, supporting financial reporting and strategic insights.
- Assists in the training and development of professional actuarial personnel as assigned.
- Performs special actuarial projects as assigned.
- Performs calculations for the establishment of IBNR (incurred but not reported) loss reserves for assigned lines of insurance.
- High visibility position focusing on enterprise-wide catastrophe reserving across Commercial, Personal Lines, and Specialty.
- Regular communication with outside vendors/services such as Verisk for ISO Declarations and estimates.
- Performs other functions as assigned.
- Physical actions and environment: sedentary work, occasional travel by car or airplane.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred and passed three Casualty Actuarial Society exams.
Requirements
- One year as an Actuarial Assistant.
- Prior work experience using Python, SQL, or similar tools.
- Experience with Git or GitHub for version control and collaboration preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to secure 'buy-in' and convince others regarding best approach.
- Goal oriented team player with a positive attitude.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Strong relationship building.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred and passed three Casualty Actuarial Society exams.
