Insurance Defense Trial Attorney

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Represents clients in all areas of insurance defense practice
- Manages all phases of cases from intake to resolution
- Litigates low to moderate complexity cases from intake to trial and/or settlement
- Prepares pleadings, motions, discovery, and briefs
- Attends hearings, conferences, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
- Proactively informs leadership of case handling opportunities and challenges
- Consults with Claims Department on legal aspects and jurisdictional issues
- May handle second chair trials and trials in moderate complexity cases
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelors degree preferred
- Licensed to practice law in applicable states required upon hire
- Three years of insurance defense litigation and/or personal/bodily injury experience preferred
- Second chair trial experience strongly preferred
- Multistate jurisdictional practice preferred
- Public speaking skills
- Ability to function and handle high case loads in adversarial situations
- Strong verbal communication and listening skills
- Excellent written communication skills
- Effective negotiation skills
- Demonstrated conflict management skills
- Demonstrated time management and priority setting skills
