About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the primary agent for crop insurance policies, including Hail Policies and Supplemental Insurance Products
- Sell MPCI, Margin Protection, Crop Hail, PRF, Livestock, and Supplemental insurance products
- Communicate insurance options and help customers make risk management decisions
- Prepare and present quotes for Livestock and other applicable insurance products
- Develop and execute personal marketing plans
- Cross-sell products and services and contribute to business and product depth goals
- Build and manage an active sales pipeline through individual and joint sales calls
- Prepare sales proposals and document sales and customer activities
- Deliver sales presentations and provide product and sales guidance
- Represent the Associations at industry and agricultural events
- Maintain relationships with key stakeholders and insurance company representatives
- Provide referrals to teammates and identify collaboration and cross-selling opportunities
- Make business placement decisions based on AIP products and offerings
- Help organize and coordinate insurance campaigns and strategies
- Process insurance forms and online applications for multiple insurance vendors
- Verify underwriting and actuarial calculations
- Serve as the point of contact for policy changes
- Collect acreage information and process it through the AIP system
- Report claims for the assigned portfolio
- Use precision farming data for acreage and production reporting
- Partner with the Insurance Specialist as needed
- Travel primarily during the day to meet customers outside the office
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Finance, or Business preferred
- Experience in an agriculture-related field with sales and service
- Relationship management and/or sales experience
- Experience servicing a large, complex book of business
- Proven record of growing a book of business
- Experience as a licensed crop insurance agent or insurance company representative with sales responsibilities preferred
- Ability to travel 50-70% of the time, primarily during the day to meet customers outside the office
