About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Review lender loan packages and assist in underwriting multifamily loans before acquisition
  • Gather and assess loan strengths, risks, and mitigants to determine supportable loan sizing parameters
  • Work with internal and external partners to size debt financing within acceptable risk tolerances
  • Evaluate market, sponsor, property performance, and other risk characteristics while following internal guidance
  • Recommend lending decisions and document negotiated decisions
  • Approve issuance of securities or other financial loans to customers
  • Develop multifamily underwriting skills through diverse and challenging deals across property types

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 2 years of multifamily credit underwriting experience
  • Strong working knowledge of credit and financial analysis for multifamily properties
  • Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Team-player who can also work as a self-starter
  • Curiosity and adaptability, including responsible application of artificial intelligence
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Knowledge of DUS/GSE multifamily underwriting guidelines
  • Familiarity with a range of multifamily property types
  • Developing risk assessment and mitigation abilities
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Ability to understand and evaluate borrower and organizational structures
  • Advanced Excel analysis and/or modeling skills
