About the role
- Conduct theoretical and empirical research with public and proprietary data in mortgage finance business
- Experience utilizing technology tools and open-source programming languages (Python, R, SAS, etc.) to support business or risk management processes
- Utilize data mining and/or statistical techniques to develop analytic insights
- Identify opportunities to apply quantitative methods to improve business performance
- Implement validation or testing strategies and assess quality and risk of model methodologies
- Communicate technical subject matter clearly and concisely to department leadership and teams
- Collaborate with people of different functional expertise respectfully and cooperatively
Requirements
- 2 years in model development or validation in the financial industry
- Ability to program using R and Python
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in delivering complex technical information to audience with various backgrounds
- Clear understanding of business operations and insights related to risk modeling
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience in SAS or SQL
- Knowledge of risk management governance (lines of defense)
