About the role
- Lead a team of engineers delivering features and enhancements across key commercial systems.
- Partner with Sales, Commercial, Logistics, and other stakeholders to ensure requirements are well-defined and aligned with business and compliance needs.
- Collaborate with technical leads and senior engineers to drive design discussions, improve system reliability, and ensure high-quality architectural decisions.
- Work with third-party platform groups/providers (Oracle, Salesforce etc) to support integrations and resolve issues efficiently.
- Promote best-in-class engineering practices that prioritize scalability, quality, performance, and compliance.
- Support planning and implementation of systems related to commercial and sales processes.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and career development for engineers, supporting growth at all levels on the team.
- Drive operational excellence by improving processes, enhancing incident response, and using data to guide iterative improvements.
- Maintain strong communication channels with product managers and business stakeholders to ensure alignment on priorities, timelines, and deliverables.
Requirements
- 5–7+ years of software engineering experience, ideally in commerce, supply chain, or other operational domains.
- 1–3+ years of experience managing software engineers or leading technical teams.
- Experience integrating and maintaining complex business systems (ERP, CRM, etc.), particularly with compliance considerations (SOX, PCI).
- Solid technical background with the ability to support architectural discussions and break down complex requirements into actionable work.
- Familiarity with incident response practices, data-informed decision-making, and iterative process improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional partners and deliver results in fast-moving environments.
- Ability to anticipate challenges within your scope and guide the team through ambiguity with sound judgment.
