The AVP, Accounting Advisory will serve as a senior strategic leader within F&G's Accounting Advisory organization, with a specialization in either investments or insurance products and reinsurance.
Drives accounting policy excellence and regulatory compliance for the company's investment portfolio and/or insurance products and reinsurance strategy.
Oversees strategic direction of accounting policy interpretation and implementation across the investment and insurance/reinsurance portfolios while ensuring alignment with F&G's risk management framework.
Requires executive-level partnership across enterprise with Investment Strategy, Hedging, Middle Office, Investment Accounting, Financial Reporting, FP&A, Reinsurance and Capital Planning.
Maintains executive-level relationships with external auditors and regulatory bodies, ensuring accounting practices meet regulatory standards.
Reports into the SVP, Chief Accounting Officer; cross-functional engagement with Finance.
External relationships & Industry Influence: serve as primary liaison with external auditors (EY); represent F&G in industry forums; build regulatory relationships; lead advocacy to minimize adverse regulatory impacts.
Risk Management & Compliance: ensure enterprise-wide compliance with accounting standards; identify and mitigate risks; establish documentation standards and control frameworks; exercise professional judgment.
Experience and Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting; minimum 10 years’ experience; CPA preferred; knowledge of annuity and life insurance products; SOX and MAR experience; statutory reporting for reinsurance lifecycle.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting required
Minimum 10 years’ experience
CPA is highly preferred
Extensive knowledge of annuity products, life insurance products, and reinsurance for GAAP and STAT accounting required
SOX and MAR experience preferred
An in-depth understanding of the Statutory reporting considerations for the entire life cycle of a reinsurance transaction, including, among others, risk transfer, reinsurance credit and IMR
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication (both written and verbal) skills
Flexible - ability to work independently
Exercise sound judgment, present alternatives, and make recommendations
Comfortable working under short timelines and managing multiple tasks
Track record managing people in a manner that allows them to grow and succeed
Comfort raising concerns about timelines when they may not be reasonable
