About the role
- Act as the primary subject matter expert for Workday Financials configuration and ongoing support
- Administer and optimize modules including: Financial Accounting, Budgets, Banking, Business Assets, Customer & Supplier Accounts, Procurement, Revenue Management, Projects, Adaptive Planning, Foundational Data Model (FDM), Accounting Center
- Proactively identify opportunities to leverage underutilized Workday functionality
- Lead design and configuration of complex financial workflows
- Maintain functional alignment between Workday HCM and Finance modules
- Ensure seamless data flow and cross‑system consistency
- Partner with Security and Audit teams to manage Workday security roles and permissions
- Support internal and external audits, including SOX and Segregation of Duties (SoD) reviews
- Enforce IT change control standards, ensuring testing, documentation, and approvals are completed prior to deployment
- Translate business needs into advanced Workday reports and dashboards
- Build and maintain calculated fields and complex reports (Matrix, Composite)
- Recommend the most effective reporting approach to reduce manual effort and improve insights
- Lead UAT planning and execution, including issue tracking and resolution
- Evaluate and coordinate bi‑annual Workday releases and new feature adoption
- Prioritize incoming system enhancement requests and manage backlog effectively
- Provide escalated support for complex Workday Financial issues
- Serve as a key point of contact for vendor and internal escalations
- Develop training materials and mentor super‑users to increase system self‑sufficiency.
Requirements
- 6–7 years of functional and/or technical experience with Workday Financials
- Experience supporting multiple Workday Financial modules
- Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Deep expertise configuring Workday Financial business processes (e.g., Procure‑to‑Pay, Order‑to‑Cash, General Ledger)
- Experience participating in at least one Workday implementation or major functional rollout
- Strong understanding of Workday Security Groups and role‑based access control
- Advanced reporting skills, including calculated fields and complex report types
- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Power Query)
- Experience using Workday EIB for bulk data uploads
- Ability to translate technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders
- Strong analytical and root‑cause problem‑solving skills
- Comfortable managing competing priorities and working independently
- Experience mentoring junior analysts or business super‑users
- Excellent communication and stakeholder partnership skill.
