About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead design independently across large, complex projects: owning the work end-to-end from discovery and framing through execution and iteration.
- Partner closely with Product and Engineering to shape roadmaps and goals from the user's perspective, tying work to broader product and business outcomes.
- Define how products and experiences connect and work together across your area, ensuring coherence across surfaces, users, and use cases.
- Use data and research to drive decisions: define success metrics, partner with Research and Analytics to validate work, and socialize learnings across the team.
- Raise the bar on craft by setting the quality standard for your area, documenting and socializing new patterns, and contributing to the design system.
- Mentor and give regular, actionable feedback to designers around you, helping elevate the work across the team.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional partners, bringing them along with clear storytelling and well-crafted artifacts.
- Integrate AI thoughtfully into your design workflow, knowing when it accelerates quality and when it doesn't, and share effective approaches with your team.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6+ years of experience as a product designer, UX designer, or similar role, with strong visual and interaction design skills.
- A track record of owning large, multi-faceted projects independently, from problem framing through delivery, with clear accountability for design quality and business outcomes.
- Experience shaping what teams work on, not just how it looks: moving pods from shipping tickets to solving clearly framed problems with measurable outcomes.
- Deep, flexible command of the design process, with the ability to balance speed and quality based on scope and impact.
- Strong storytelling and communication skills: able to tailor your message to the audience and present work with a clear narrative.
- Experience designing for complex, multi-user experiences across multiple surfaces or touchpoints.
- Proficiency in Figma and prototyping tools include AI-first tools. You keep up with the latest tools and are willing to share your knowledge.
- Experience designing with and contributing to a robust design system.
- A detailed portfolio that showcases how you've tackled complicated, multi-stakeholder problems and the business and customer impact of your work.
- Soft skills as well developed as your craft skills: you're thoughtful about how teams work together.
- A sharp mind, a soft heart, and a large funny bone.
- Ability to travel up to 5 days per quarter for Together Weeks, team gatherings and other events, when applicable.
