About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the main point of contact from GDS for tasks assigned by global client-serving assurance teams
  • Manage the timeliness and quality of deliverables and day-to-day engagement operations
  • Support a portfolio of engagements by leading Assistant Managers, Seniors and Associates
  • Ensure timely, high-quality work in line with EY methodology and engagement-team expectations
  • Support quality projects including pre-issuance reviews, assurance quality reviews and efficiency projects
  • Develop and maintain relationships with assurance executives in the Americas and Europe
  • Embed EY Risk Management procedures into engagement-team work
  • Transition new engagements and services to GDS Assurance while maintaining quality of service
  • Manage workflow, allocate resources and monitor performance against standards
  • Monitor team utilization, budget-to-actuals and other operational matters
  • Establish expectations regarding value delivered to aligned GDS or engagement teams
  • Identify opportunities to improve GDS Assurance scope of work
  • Standardize assurance processes and leverage best practices
  • Develop high-performing teams through delegation, coaching, feedback, training and performance reviews
  • Use technology and tools to learn, share knowledge and enhance service delivery
  • Contribute to technical and soft-skills training
  • Participate in recruitment, diversity and inclusiveness, training and other organizational initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAI) with 5-6 years of post-qualification relevant experience
  • Qualified ACCA / CPA with 7-8 years of post-qualification relevant experience
  • Articleship with other top or mid-tier accounting firms
  • Experience in a mid- or top-tier accounting firm focused on external or Assurance reviews / matters, or in an MNC or larger Indian company, preferably within a Shared Service Environment
  • Experience with Big 4 firms’ Indian and global practices
  • Expert knowledge of Indian accounting and assurance standards
  • Knowledge of UK GAAP or US GAAP and International assurance standards is an added advantage
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Effective interpersonal, risk management, facilitation and presentation skills
  • Project management, leadership, coaching, counselling and supervisory skills
  • Ability to spread positive work culture, teaming and live EY values
  • Ability to quickly form strong working relationships with colleagues in India and global teams
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office
  • Interest in business and commerciality
