About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and implement standalone cost models, stranded cost models, and one-time cost projections following carve-outs, spins, and integrations
  • Develop and apply functional cost and headcount benchmarks using third-party datasets
  • Identify business entanglements and cost implications associated with standalone projects, stranded assets, and one-time expenditures
  • Classify costs using trial balances into functional heads, direct versus allocated costs, and headcount versus non-headcount costs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage and optimize standalone projects, stranded assets, and one-time expenditures
  • Build relationships with EY offices globally and contribute to client satisfaction
  • Support business development activities with expertise on standalone, stranded, and one-time cost considerations
  • Use AI-enabled tools and technology assets for standalone cost analyses
  • Provide feedback to improve AI services, prompts, and automation workflows across the SAC delivery process

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4–6 years of experience in the M&A life cycle, carve-out or post-announcement business integration, and cross-border M&A
  • Post Graduate degree in business, accounting, finance, engineering, computer science, or a related field from a premier institute
  • Specialized knowledge of standalone costs, stranded costs, and one-time costs
  • Financial analysis experience across pre- and post-deal transactions
  • Ability to link operational analysis to P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet
  • Understanding of corporate allocations and methodologies for replacing allocated costs
  • Proficiency in Excel-based financial and cost modeling
  • Ability to translate financial modeling outputs into executive-ready PowerPoint materials
  • Excellent problem-solving, project management, facilitation, interpersonal, written communication, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong executive presence, networking, and negotiation skills
  • Willingness to undertake international travel as required by the business
  • Project management, communication, and presentation skills are additionally desirable
