About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own backend and agentic platform architecture for Python-led platform components across APIs, services, automation utilities, AI/LLM integrations, multi-agent workflows, Microsoft Agent Framework, Azure AI Foundry, OpenAI Agents SDK, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, LangChain / LangGraph, CrewAI, LlamaIndex Workflows, MCP-based tool integration, robotics-enabled solutions and enterprise integration layers.
  • Define design principles, reference patterns, coding standards and reusable engineering assets for backend teams.
  • Translate functional and non-functional requirements into concrete architecture decisions covering scalability, security, performance, reliability and maintainability.
  • Lead technical design reviews, code reviews, dependency assessments and production-readiness checks before major releases.
  • Guide engineers on Python service design, Java service integration, API contracts, database access patterns, error management and automated testing.
  • Partner with product owners, architects, DevOps teams and security stakeholders to align technology choices with business outcomes and delivery priorities.
  • Drive CI/CD discipline, environment readiness, observability, logging, monitoring, vulnerability remediation and release governance.
  • Identify delivery risks early, remove technical blockers, manage dependencies and ensure the team has the right tools, standards and support to execute effectively.
  • Mentor senior developers, support capability building and create a culture of engineering excellence, documentation and reusable delivery practices.
  • Contribute to estimation, sprint planning, backlog refinement, stakeholder communication and technical decision-making across delivery pods.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong hands-on Python & Java programming background for backend services, automation, scripting and enterprise integration.
  • Proven experience designing REST APIs, microservices, event/message-based integrations and service-to-service communication patterns.
  • Strong understanding of SQL/relational databases, data modelling, query optimisation, transaction handling and integration with application services.
  • Experience with CI/CD, Git-based version control, automated testing, code quality gates, release management and DevOps practices.
  • Ability to define architecture decisions, document trade-offs and govern implementation quality across multiple engineers.
  • Security-first mindset covering secure coding, secrets handling, dependency hygiene, vulnerability remediation and compliance-aware delivery.
  • Mandatory experience with AI engineering concepts, LLM-based solution design, prompt/orchestration patterns and safe integration of AI capabilities into enterprise applications.
  • Hands-on knowledge of relevant AI agentic frameworks and platforms such as Microsoft Agent Framework, Azure AI Foundry / Foundry SDK, OpenAI Agents SDK, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, LangChain / LangGraph, CrewAI and LlamaIndex Workflows, including autonomous workflow design, tool/function calling, MCP-based tool integration, multi-agent orchestration, human-in-the-loop patterns, memory, planning and AI-enabled SDLC acceleration.
  • Ability to evaluate and select the right agentic framework based on use case complexity, orchestration model, model/provider compatibility, tool ecosystem, MCP/A2A readiness, deployment model, governance, observability, enterprise security and production support requirements.
  • Understanding of robotics, automation platforms, robotic process automation or robotics-integrated digital solutions, with the ability to connect software engineering patterns to physical or process automation use cases.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, coaching and team leadership skills.
