About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- assist clients in responding to federal and provincial audits
- strategically advise clients on resolving tax disputes
- prepare notices of objection and written representations
- assist with litigation in resolving tax disputes including court appeals
- assist with the preparation of legal opinions regarding tax consequences
- perform post-transaction audits for tax efficacy and litigation risk
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2+ years’ experience with income tax, sales tax, and other taxes
- prior tax litigation experience is an asset
- strong foundational knowledge of Canada’s income tax, sales tax, or other Canadian tax systems
- member in good standing of the Law Society of their province of residence
- proficiency in English and French
