About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist clients in responding to federal and provincial audits
  • Strategically advise clients on options and steps in resolving tax disputes
  • Prepare notices of objection and written representations to tax authorities
  • Assist with litigation in resolving tax disputes including court appeals and judicial review applications
  • Assist with preparation of legal opinions for tax consequences of transactions and conducting post-transaction audits

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2+ years’ experience with income tax, sales tax, and other taxes
  • Prior tax litigation experience is an asset
  • Strong foundational knowledge of Canada’s income tax, sales tax, or Canadian tax systems
  • Member in good standing of the Law Society of their province of residence
  • Proficiency in English.
