About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Takes end to end responsibility for the effective planning and delivery of test automation frameworks and automation projects on large scale complex strategic and/or transformative projects in accordance with relevant Test Automation Methodologies.
- Plans, directs, coordinates and reports on test automation delivery activities from automation test strategy and planning by leading, directing and overseeing a team of resources working across multiple workstreams and projects.
- You will be responsible for contributing to the delivery of IT Projects through methodologies such as Agile Scrum/Kanban and traditional Waterfall (when required), leveraging your domain knowledge and sector experience
- Create high-quality work products and act as a subject matter resource on one or more services, leveraging knowledge and experience to shape services to client problems
- Understand all our service offerings and actively identify opportunities to better serve clients.
- Maintains focus so that projects deliver on key priorities and dependencies
Requirements
What you’ll need- A strong academic record including a third level degree, preferably in a business or IT related discipline
- QA accreditation (ISTQB Foundation, ISTQB Test Automation Engineer or a similar IT accreditation from a recognised third level institution or accreditation body)
- Have a minimum of 15 years of experience in full time test automation role
- At least 4 years in hands-on automation architect role
- Expert in the selection and building of test automation frameworks and tools
- Have experience of tool evaluation and selection
- Have prior experience of leading a team of automation engineers
- Have hands-on experience of at least two of the following: Selenium Web driver with Java/C#/Python/JS, Appium, Protractor, Worksoft, Tricentis Tosca, Ranorex, UFT, Postman, RestAssured
- Have hands-on experience of the following tools (Automation, Build, CICD): Git/Bitbucket/Gitlab/SVN, Selenium grid/Saucelabs/Browserstack, Jenkins/AzureDevops
- Should be familiar with code reviews, design patterns, and implementing best practices in test automation
- Expert knowledge of a CI system to create builds
- Be an expert in Agile development practices including ATDD, TDD & BDD
- Have structured approach to problem solving and be a self-starter with the ability to work independently managing your own workload with an attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills – tailoring communications to suit a mix of audiences.
