About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide advisory services and accounting support on technical and special matters, including GAAP conversion, accounting policy support, new accounting standard implementation, and IFRS/US GAAP disclosure support
  • Work with top global clients across markets and industry sectors
  • Work closely with FAAS Managers and Senior Managers on client engagements across the Americas, EMEIA, or APAC
  • Manage quality of service delivery and direct daily fieldwork progress
  • Inform supervisors of engagement status and follow through on client requests
  • Manage expectations regarding deliverable and report timing
  • Explain clients' critical success factors to engagement teams
  • Work directly with onshore engagement teams daily to deliver work to onshore clients
  • Apply accounting standards and independent professional judgment to client situations and regulatory requirements
  • Identify engagement and client service issues; research and benchmark client data against industry data
  • Coordinate with onshore technical accounting teams and provide research assistance on US GAAP and IFRS pronouncements
  • Demonstrate knowledge of special accounting matters, new accounting pronouncements, and technology-oriented accounting solutions
  • Customize presentations to acquisition-specific attributes
  • Work on corporate finance transactions from initial client pitches through transaction closing
  • Maintain relationships with senior stakeholders and address client needs through consistent communications
  • Monitor industry, regulatory, and business practices and oversee regulatory adherence
  • Initiate reporting, analysis, and process improvements
  • Coordinate small project teams and provide guidance and feedback to junior team members
  • Contribute to thought leadership, industry events, training, and team communications
  • Contribute to business development and identify opportunities with new and existing clients
  • Provide input to EY points of view, solution development, engagement tools, and enablers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • 6-10 years (post qualification) in Assurance, including at least 3+ years of Financial Accounting and Advisory experience
  • Experience working in an advisory role
  • Experience managing a team of 10+ people
  • Advanced experience with technical accounting matters and whitepapers on significant issues such as consolidation, IFRS 15, and IFRS 16
  • Hands-on consulting experience at a Big 4 or top-tier consulting firm
  • Good understanding of IFRS, US GAAP, UK GAAP, and International Auditing Standards
  • Technical accounting advisory experience on complex topics, including business combinations, consolidation, share-based payments, and financial instruments
  • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and technical writing skills
  • Ability to research client inquiries and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices, and new technologies
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel on short notice as necessary
  • Experience with accounting and regulatory support for accounting changes and special matters
  • White paper writing skills
  • Experience providing technical accounting guidance to clients
  • Experience conducting accounting research and analysis, documenting findings, and proposing solutions
  • Experience preparing financial statements, accounting policies, and governance documentation
  • Experience with accounting processes, audit support, and governance
