About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Interact with clients to understand Payroll needs and develop implementation requirements
  • Establish implementation plans and manage delivery to meet target dates
  • Coordinate data migration, parallel runs and first live runs with clients and internal teams
  • Document proposed payroll functionality and draft client procedures
  • Work with the service delivery team to ensure smooth handover to business-as-usual
  • Develop and advise on bespoke financial reports, including general ledger reports
  • Comply with Quality and Risk requirements for professional service firms
  • Support and develop junior team members
  • Prepare fee and budget details
  • Identify, manage, resolve and mitigate risks and issues affecting client delivery
  • Act as an escalation point when needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Core expertise and proven experience in Payroll Implementation of UK clients
  • Ability to work alongside global teams
  • Solid UK Payroll technical knowledge
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrable project management and time management skills
  • Assertive and proactive approach to client engagements
  • Ability to network within large organisations and build relationships with individuals and clients
  • Ability to research effectively and explain complex subjects clearly
  • Problem-solving and bespoke client solution development capability
  • Over 5 years’ relevant hands-on UK Payroll knowledge
  • Payroll qualifications such as Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) preferred
  • Experience of payroll implementations in a high-volume business essential
  • Expertise in payroll compliance, rules and legislation
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in statutory payments/deductions and pension contributions and their management
  • Thorough understanding of upstream and downstream processes impacting Payroll
  • Understanding of payroll compliance including AE, RTI and Apprenticeship Levy
  • iTrent experience preferred but not essential
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good workload management skills and ability to work to deadlines
