About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the main GDS point of contact for tasks assigned by global client-serving assurance teams
  • Manage the timeliness and quality of engagement deliverables and day-to-day operations
  • Support a portfolio of engagements by leading Assistant Managers, Seniors and Associates
  • Ensure timely, high-quality work in accordance with EY methodology and engagement-team expectations
  • Support quality projects including pre-issuance reviews, assurance quality reviews and efficiency projects
  • Develop and maintain relationships with assurance counterparts in the Americas and Europe
  • Embed EY risk-management procedures into engagement-team work
  • Transition new engagements and services to GDS Assurance while maintaining service quality
  • Manage workflow, allocate resources and monitor team performance, utilization and budgets
  • Identify opportunities to improve and standardize GDS Assurance processes
  • Delegate work, build high-performing teams and support team members’ development
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback and training
  • Use technology and tools to enhance service delivery and share knowledge
  • Contribute to technical and soft-skills training
  • Participate in recruitment, diversity and inclusion, training and other organizational initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAI) with 5-6 years of post-qualification relevant experience
  • Qualified ACCA / CPA with 7-8 years of post-qualification relevant experience
  • Articleship with other top or mid-tier accounting firms
  • Experience in a mid- or top-tier accounting firm focused on external or assurance reviews/matters
  • Experience in an MNC or larger Indian company, preferably within a shared service environment
  • Experience with Big 4 firms’ Indian or global practice
  • Expert knowledge of Indian accounting and assurance standards
  • Knowledge of UK GAAP or US GAAP and international assurance standards is an added advantage
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Effective interpersonal, risk management, facilitation and presentation skills
  • Project management, leadership, coaching, counselling and supervisory skills
  • Ability to form strong working relationships with colleagues in India and global teams
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office is desirable
  • Interest in business and commerciality
