About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the main GDS point of contact for tasks assigned by global client-serving assurance teams
- Manage the timeliness and quality of deliverables and day-to-day engagement operations
- Support a portfolio of engagements by leading Assistant Managers, Seniors and Associates
- Ensure timely, high-quality work in line with EY methodology and engagement-team expectations
- Support quality projects including pre-issuance reviews, assurance quality reviews and efficiency projects
- Develop and maintain relationships with assurance counterparts in the Americas and Europe
- Embed EY risk-management procedures into engagement-team work
- Transition new engagements and services to GDS Assurance while maintaining service quality
- Manage workflow, allocate resources, monitor performance, utilization and budget-to-actuals
- Identify opportunities to improve and standardize GDS Assurance processes and leverage best practices
- Develop high-performing teams through delegation, coaching, training and performance feedback
- Contribute to recruitment, diversity and inclusion, training and other organizational initiatives
- Use technology and tools to enhance service delivery and share knowledge
Requirements
What you’ll need- Qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAI) with 5-6 years of post-qualification relevant experience
- Qualified ACCA / CPA with 7-8 years of post-qualification relevant experience
- Articleship with other top or mid-tier accounting firms
- Experience in a mid- or top-tier accounting firm focused on external or assurance reviews / matters, an MNC or larger Indian company preferably within a shared service environment, or Big 4 firms
- Expert knowledge of Indian accounting and assurance standards
- Knowledge of UK GAAP or US GAAP and international assurance standards is an added advantage
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Effective interpersonal, risk management, facilitation and presentation skills
- Project management, leadership, coaching, counselling and supervisory skills
- Ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues in India and global teams
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office is ideally desired
