About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Participate in and lead due diligence engagements for acquisitions or divestments by private equity investors and strategic corporate players
- Identify and quantify GAAP issues related to target valuation
- Prepare and evaluate pro forma financial information
- Analyze carve-out issues for buy-side or sell-side projects
- Identify issues for purchase price reductions, deal structuring or deal termination
- Identify post-acquisition and divestiture action steps
- Evaluate effects of seasonality on cash flow requirements
- Correlate due diligence findings with client valuations and manage service expectations
- Drive practice growth through client outreach, market development, thought leadership, pursuits and proposal development
- Foster long-lasting, revenue-generating partnerships
- Develop people by supervising staff, providing feedback and training, and conducting performance reviews
- Build relationships across service lines and manage cross-functional collaboration and delivery
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bilingualism in both French and English required
- Minimum 8 years of experience, including 5 years of diligence experience
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting and/or related major
- CPA or CA, CPA certification (or equivalent)
- Advanced Excel proficiency
- Familiarity with PowerBI for data visualization and Alteryx for data preparation strongly preferred
- Proven track record managing teams on multiple concurrent projects and deadlines
- Experience providing direction to team members and overseeing engagement scope, resources and financials
- Proven track record developing long-lasting business relationships with senior client stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills with clients at all organization levels
- Experience presenting findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders, including executives and boards
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
- Strong work initiative and ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas
- Willingness to team and learn
- Willingness and ability to travel within Canada and the US
