About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Partner in crafting annual budgets, quarterly reforecasts, and multi-year financial models, working cross-functionally to collect inputs and boost automation for better accuracy.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare detailed schedules for SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K), deliver monthly and quarterly financial insights, and handle ad-hoc analysis requests from Finance and the CFO.
  • Month-End Close & Consolidation: Lead month-end close activities including consolidating Canadian entities and integrating joint venture data into consolidation systems.
  • Compliance & Controls: Support SOX compliance efforts, assist external auditors during reviews and audits, and uphold strong financial controls.
  • Process Improvement & Collaboration: Drive finance process improvements, support key initiatives and training, and collaborate with other departments to enhance communication and operational efficiency.

  • Accounting Foundation Preferred: Strong foundation in accounting to support annual budgets, quarterly reforecasts, and capital planning with a focus on accuracy and automation.
  • Desire for Process Improvement: Tech-savvy and proactive mindset to optimize financial systems, driving automation and streamlining month-end close and FP&A processes. Solution-oriented approach to finance ops challenges is key.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication: Ability to build trusted relationships across internal teams, joint ventures, and auditors. Strong communication skills essential for navigating complex stakeholder environments and ensuring smooth financial operations.
