About the role
- Design and develop transmission and driveline components and subsystems from concept through to production release
- Support the resolution of transmission-related failures identified during development or in-service operation
- Contribute to the development and integration of transmission systems within vehicle powertrain architectures
- Apply structured engineering methodologies to diagnose issues and deliver effective solutions
- Utilise problem-solving tools such as 8D, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Fishbone/Ishikawa, and IS/IS NOT analysis
- Manage Quality Concern Reports (QCRs) and Quality Notifications (QNs)
- Ensure transmission components integrate seamlessly with engine, chassis, and vehicle systems
- Maintain technical documentation including DFMEA, DVP, and technical specifications
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
- A 2:1 degree classification or above is desirable
- Strong knowledge of transmission and driveline systems
- Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D and Root Cause Analysis
- Ability to develop engineering solutions from concept through production release
- Knowledge of DFMEA, DVP, and technical specification documentation
- Familiarity with CATIA V5 (2D/3D) for engineering design or investigation activities
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering teams and suppliers
