About the role
- Coordinate budget definition activities with portfolio managers, the Finance department and Head Office.
- Develop and maintain the master capacity model.
- Monitor results and budget forecasts to ensure compliance with the operating plan and to support decision-making.
- Provide monthly financial and performance data analysis reports to the Head of Engineering.
- Lead hiring vs. subcontracting decisions based on the make/buy policy, budget, human resources and the organization’s strategic skills priorities.
- Identify gaps between program requirements and the available budget and resources.
- Measure business performance by collecting, consolidating and synthesizing key performance indicators, and lead review meetings with department heads.
- Define, map, document, deploy, monitor and continuously improve engineering activity management processes within your scope.
- Act as the liaison between technical teams and departments such as Finance, Human Resources and Procurement.
- Build a network of colleagues across Airbus Europe and Airbus Canada to share working methods and implement best practices.
- Lead the transfer and coaching of concepts, principles, tools and continuous improvement techniques.
- Develop strategies and roadmaps to improve engineering operations.
- Manage the technical and interpersonal skills matrix, anticipate the organization’s future needs and lead Knowledge Management (KM) initiatives.
- Support the implementation of the subcontracting strategies “Make” and “Extended Make,” including technical specifications and service level agreements.
- Drive the identification and quantification of risks and opportunities to facilitate decision-making and the implementation of mitigation and improvement plans.
Requirements
- You hold a degree in Engineering, Business/Administration, Project Management, or have equivalent relevant experience.
- You have at least 10 years of experience in aerospace engineering and/or business management.
- You have a solid understanding of budget management, financial forecasting and cost control.
- You are fully bilingual (French/English) and comfortable presenting to and engaging with senior executives/directors.
- You are able to identify issues and propose solutions, demonstrating sound judgment in high-pressure situations.
- You are a creative problem solver, accountable, highly organized and have a strong customer-focused approach to managing internal stakeholders.
- You are process-oriented and have expertise in skills management.
- You have a solid understanding of project management; knowledge of Part 21/AS9100 regulations is an asset.
- You are proficient in knowledge management and continuous improvement principles and methodologies.
- You have strong proficiency with spreadsheets and data analysis applications (e.g., Looker Studio, Qlik Sense).
