About the role
- Develop, integrate and implement technical solutions for some of our high-profile programmes of work
- The Design Engineer will help to ensure designs are compliant with all relevant customer, regulatory, and airworthiness requirements and internal standards within the programme, schedule, and manufacturing constraints
- Have a shared responsibility in the design of structural aircraft identifying technical problems and creating technical solutions
- Working with both composite structures and different assembly techniques
- Will be part of a multidisciplinary team together with analysis engineers, manufacturing engineers, and tooling engineers
- Work on the integration of all requirements and input from other engineering disciplines into the conceptual and detailed design, such that the product definition can be made and a cost-efficient and producible design is achieved.
Requirements
- Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Proven experience in composite structural design
- Demonstrated technical project delivery
- Composite Product Design (CPD)
- Engineering to GKN design standards and requirements
- Generate DFM datasets
- Generate compensated tooling surfaces
- Support to tooling suppliers
- Provide engineering support to manufacturing teams as required
- Provide post manufacture product engineering assessment
- Experience with next-generation composite materials and technologies.
