About the role

  • The translation of customer specifications into engineering solutions including the identification and mitigation of technical risk.
  • The production of engineering calculations that are necessary to support any conceptual or detail engineering solution for which they are responsible.
  • The detailing of engineering solutions in accordance with Industry Standards or client standards, sufficient for manufacture or purchase of such items.
  • Contributing to technical reports and feasibility studies.
  • Ensuring that any contractual, safety or legislative requirements have been taken into account.
  • Guidance of technicians, sub-contractors or suppliers in support of projects ensuring that this is carried out in a safe manner.
  • Engineering contribution in support of sales proposals.
  • The production of clear written technical reports and presentations.
  • Right first time and on time delivery of their work; ability to estimate time and plan own work.
  • Adherence to the Company's Quality Assurance Policies and Processes Manual.
  • Continuous improvement contribution to personal and company development.

Requirements

  • BTech/MTech
  • 4-8 Years experience in Fatigue and Damage Tolerance analysis
  • Knowledge of aircraft Fuselage and wing structure and aircraft loads
  • Experienced in spectrum generation and Kt Calculation
  • Autonomous in Fatigue and Damage Tolerance (F&DT) calculations of Airbus aircrafts (fuselage section)
  • Well versed in ISAMI modules (including crack models, joint models) and ISAMI template preparation
  • Should have Fatigue and Damage Tolerance experience related to Single Aisle, Long Range and A350 programs
  • F&DT Analysis of Junctions, notches, unfolding radius, lugs & pins
  • Sizing and stress analysis of the Fuselage and Wing Structure and interfaces by means of hand calculations, numerical simulations (FEM)
  • Experience in numerical modeling, post-processing and reporting of the results
  • Very well-versed in stress dossier writing
  • Good in excel macros
  • Tools: ISAMI, Hyperview (post processing), Catia V5, PASS, SSI (Basic Knowledge), Nastran/Patran, Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Airbus processes and procedures (desired)
  • Visual Basic and/or Python programming knowledge (desired)
  • Automation of repeatable tasks/processes (desired)
  • Experience in initial Design Stress (Static, FDT and FEM) tasks of Aircraft Structures
