About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Argue contested hearings, temporary orders hearings, and family law trials
  • Lead mediations and adversarial settlement negotiations
  • Conduct depositions and prepare clients and witnesses for testimony
  • Develop litigation strategies and take over matters when negotiations fail
  • Review and revise motions, pleadings, and responses prepared by the drafting/paralegal team
  • Guide clients through court appearances with a trauma-informed and client-centered approach
  • Serve as the lead courtroom advocate while leveraging internal support teams for drafting, intake, and trial preparation
  • Collaborate with dedicated paralegals responsible for exhibit binders, trial notebooks, and hearing preparation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Active Texas Bar license or documented reciprocity process underway
  • Minimum 3+ years of family law litigation experience; OR 5+ years of civil litigation experience with a demonstrated interest in transitioning into family law
  • Strong courtroom experience handling contested hearings, motions, mediations, and/or trials
  • Experience taking depositions and preparing witnesses
  • Ability to manage emotionally sensitive matters with professionalism and emotional intelligence
  • Strong advocacy, negotiation, and litigation strategy skills
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in high-conflict situations.
