About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct technical surveys of existing installations
  • Participate in the design of mechanical plans and specifications using 2D and 3D CAD tools
  • Produce P&ID, equipment layout drawings, piping plans, ventilation, pumping systems, and instrumentation drawings
  • Develop equipment lists and bills of quantities
  • Attend multidisciplinary coordination meetings
  • Review shop drawings and technical datasheets
  • Perform site visits to ensure the quality and compliance of work
  • Prepare site reports and meeting minutes
  • Take part in design reviews with clients
  • Optimize concepts considering safety, constructability, maintenance, and industry best practices
  • Perform any other related duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • College diploma (DEC) in mechanical engineering technology, building mechanical engineering, industrial drafting, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in design and technical drafting
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and Revit or equivalent modeling software
  • Knowledge of Plant 3D (asset)
  • Knowledge of CATIA (asset)
  • Good understanding of mechanical, piping and HVAC standards
  • Rigour, autonomy, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Valid driver’s license
