About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design electrical power systems and their layout for various electric transmission projects
- Participate in the development of electrical systems, including schematics and equipment layout plans
- Design and integrate BESS systems and/or solar and wind farms
- Perform short-circuit capacity studies, protection coordination studies, arc-flash studies, and harmonic current studies
- Conduct site surveys in collaboration with other disciplines
- Contribute to the preparation of plans and specifications, and estimate project quantities and costs
- Verify conformity of drawings and technical data sheets
- Perform or validate equipment sizing calculations and selection of power cable sizes
- Monitor work quality
- Respond to site correspondence
- Collaborate with the project manager to control allocated budgets
- Communicate with clients and professionals to ensure project coordination
- Assist in preparing service proposals
- Perform any other tasks related to the position
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
- More than 10 years of relevant experience, ideally in engineering consulting
- Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
- Strong expertise in medium and high voltage electrical systems
- Good knowledge of applicable standards and codes
- Experience designing electrical infrastructure for the energy, industrial, or institutional sectors
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent command of French
- Valid driver's license
- Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Analytical mindset, autonomy, curiosity, and rigor
- Ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment
