About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare drawings, specifications and cost estimates for construction related to electrical distribution, services, lighting, fire alarm, telephony, communications and grounding.
- Participate in the preparation of specifications and cost estimates for construction.
- Coordinate with architects and project engineers.
- Perform building electrical design for multidisciplinary projects.
- Review shop drawings and technical data sheets.
- Validate the quality of on-site work (site visits) and participate in construction meetings.
- Prepare site visit reports and construction meeting minutes.
- Analyze change order costs, prepare change notices and site directives, and provide the necessary recommendations to the client.
- Participate in provisional and final acceptance inspections.
- Perform any other duties related to the position.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in building electrical systems.
- Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Fluent in spoken and written French.
- Strong knowledge of the Electrical Code.
- Valid driver's license for travel.
- Experience with transmission substations within an engineering consulting firm (asset).
- Resourceful, responsible, and organized.
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
