About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare drawings, specifications and cost estimates for construction related to electrical distribution, services, lighting, fire alarm, telephony, communications and grounding.
  • Participate in the preparation of specifications and cost estimates for construction.
  • Coordinate with architects and project engineers.
  • Perform building electrical design for multidisciplinary projects.
  • Review shop drawings and technical data sheets.
  • Validate the quality of on-site work (site visits) and participate in construction meetings.
  • Prepare site visit reports and construction meeting minutes.
  • Analyze change order costs, prepare change notices and site directives, and provide the necessary recommendations to the client.
  • Participate in provisional and final acceptance inspections.
  • Perform any other duties related to the position.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in building electrical systems.
  • Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Fluent in spoken and written French.
  • Strong knowledge of the Electrical Code.
  • Valid driver's license for travel.
  • Experience with transmission substations within an engineering consulting firm (asset).
  • Resourceful, responsible, and organized.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
